I. Prompts for motivation

When was the last time you remember feeling joy and gratitude because of the very people surrounding you? Can you think of any distinct qualities or behaviors that made you feel like you were in good company?

How often do you think about whether or not you are choosing the right energy that supports you in maintaining a helpful headspace? What actions can you take to enhance your sense of clarity and curiosity?

II. Thoughts for intention

There’s no denying the benefits we gain from being in a tribe. In entering spaces with those who value genuine intimacy and connection, we find a level of safety that can’t be matched by anything on an external level. It’s both empowering and humbling to experience the power of community, which acts as a psychological anchor and foundation for real belonging.

It’s important to prioritize good relationships because it’s essential to our physical, psychological, mental, and emotional health. As social beings, we need other people in order to thrive and support each other. It’s no secret how stronger ties are correlated with stronger immunity and longevity. By choosing to reach out and commit to the people we love, we are collectively developing our inner fortitude to navigate our challenges in a robust way.

III. Ideas for preparation

We can make sure we consistently stay in good company by setting reminders to check in with our friends and family regularly. Just putting a note in our calendars can help us get more active about this so that it turns into an ongoing ritual. While it’s common to get caught up in our busy schedules, sometimes a quick conversation is all it takes to shift things around for you or the other person. Who knows, maybe just a few minutes of connection can show you how much you needed it more than you realized.

Of course, we all have our good days and bad days. We pick up impressions throughout our mornings and afternoons that we might not even be aware of how dysregulated we are internally. Knowing what’s going on inside you and the energy you’re bringing to others is an ongoing practice. Hopefully, we can get better at this, pivot, or call things out in the moment when we notice that the energy we’re surrounded by is shifting to a place that requires patience and attentiveness.

IV. Quotes for inspiration

― Ayn Rand, The Fountainhead

― Jane Austen, Persuasion
