I. Prompts for motivation

Can you remember the last time you put in the effort to celebrate something you recently achieved? How often do you look back on what you accomplished and reward yourself in honor of your progress?

Who in your life can you think of that celebrates their small wins consistently? If you could reward yourself for the things that you work hard on regularly, in what big or small ways could you achieve this?

II. Thoughts for intention

There is great power in honoring even the smallest successes we achieve, especially since they significantly impact our level of drive and motivation in the long run. When we celebrate the tiniest of wins, we get an immense boost of pride and happiness. This not only emboldens us to push through difficult setbacks and obstacles but also builds on our self-confidence in the process. Because no matter how small a step we take, it gives us the encouragement we need to keep moving toward our end goals.

While it is easy to get caught up in the negative things we notice, the truth is that training our minds to focus on the positive ones has an impact on our lives. Of course, it takes a lot more effort to see the good stuff as a daily approach. Still, it’s worth doing so since filling our minds with happy thoughts affects our self-esteem. With a more robust sense of self, it gets easier to build hopefulness and satisfaction in the long run. This, in turn, allows us to develop more direction, endurance, and resilience, which we can always rely on in times of need.

III. Ideas for preparation

We can celebrate our small wins by defining them for ourselves. For some, this can be as simple as making a healthy choice that benefits us in the long run. Whether that relates to eating habits, conscious living, or personal growth, we can decide whether they fall into this category based on our values and objectives. Typically, these kinds of decisions will indicate some form of progress or movement in the right direction of which we are aiming for. One way we can reward ourselves is by adding a celebratory moment after these activities and reap the feelings of gratification that we rightfully deserve.

One way to reaffirm our successes is through working with a plan that includes our list of milestones. By keeping a tangible record of what we are working towards, we can quickly stay on top of any times in which we reach certain breakthroughs along the way. This is helpful since it is common to get sidetracked on our journey, especially when certain events temporarily deter us. But with a journal filled with our most significant aspirations, we can easily break things down into manageable tasks and begin checking things off our lists one step at a time.
